Pop-ups everywhere, a browser that keeps redirecting, a fake 'call Microsoft support' warning, or a computer that takes five minutes to start – these are software and hardware problems we fix every day at Cell n PC in Wylie, for Windows desktops, laptops and Macs.
What we fix
- Virus, malware and adware removal, including browser hijackers and fake security alerts
- Slow startup and freezing – cleanup of startup programs, updates and disk errors
- Windows won’t boot – blue screens, startup repair, update failures
- Windows or macOS reinstall, with your files backed up first when possible
- SSD upgrades – replacing an old hard drive with an SSD is one of the biggest speed boosts for an older computer
- RAM upgrades on computers that support them
- New computer setup and data transfer
Got a 'tech support' scam pop-up?
Real Microsoft or Apple warnings never ask you to call a phone number. If you called one and let someone connect to your computer, disconnect from the internet, bring the computer in, and change your important passwords from a different device.
Is it worth fixing an older computer?
Often yes. An SSD upgrade and cleanup can make a 5-year-old laptop feel fast again. If your computer isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you and help you move your files to a new one.
Frequently asked questions
How long does virus removal take?
It depends on the infection and the computer's speed. Many cleanups are done within a day; we'll give you an estimate at drop-off.
Will I lose my files?
Virus removal normally keeps your files. If a reinstall is needed, we back up your data first whenever the drive is readable.
Do you upgrade laptops to SSD?
Yes. We clone your existing drive to a new SSD so your programs and files come across.
