Pool, toilet, rain, a spilled drink – liquid damage is one of the most time-sensitive repairs there is. Water itself isn't the main problem; the minerals and corrosion it leaves on the circuit board are. The sooner a wet device is opened and cleaned, the better the chance of saving it and the data on it.
What to do right now
- Turn it off and don’t turn it back on to ‘check’.
- Don’t charge it. Power plus moisture causes the most damage.
- Skip the rice. Rice doesn’t remove corrosion and wastes valuable time.

How we repair water-damaged devices
We open the device, disconnect the battery, and inspect the board for corrosion. The board is cleaned, then we test the screen, charging, cameras, speakers and other parts one by one. Some devices come back fully; others need a part such as a screen, battery or charging port replaced. If the phone can’t be saved, we’ll talk to you about getting your photos and data off it.

Frequently asked questions
My iPhone is water resistant – why did it stop working?
Water resistance wears down over time and after drops or repairs, and it doesn't cover pools, salt water or hot liquids. Liquid can still get inside.
Can you recover my photos from a water-damaged phone?
Often, yes – even when the phone can't be fully repaired. See our data recovery service or ask when you drop the phone off.
I spilled coffee on my MacBook. What should I do?
Shut it down, unplug it, turn it upside down in a tent shape, and bring it in as soon as possible. Don't try to power it on.
Another shop said your wet phone or laptop is dead?
Liquid damage is often repairable at board level if it is cleaned before corrosion spreads. Bring it in and we will check it in our own shop. Second opinion welcome.
